DESCRIPTION
California huckleberry is a handsome upright, dense, evergreen shrub with arching shoots and finely-toothed, leathery, glossy, dark green, oval leaves that emerge bronzy or reddish. Small, white or pinkish, urn-shaped spring flowers are followed by edible, black berries in the fall. Shrubs can be used for hedges or borders. Cut branches are attractive in floral arrangements.
