Naturally found on dry slopes on Santa Catalina and San Clemente islands in Southern California, St. Catherine's Lace is a fast-growing medium-sized evergreen rounded shrub with broadly oval greyish white leaves and large lace-like clusters of white to pink flowers that mature to reddish-brown. Plant becomes more irregular with age and forms a thick trunk with rough, shredding brown bark. Use on slopes, in borders, containers, or as a specimen.
