Tough and easy to grow, these are the most widely used of all ferns. This fast-growing evergreen has tufts of upright sword-shaped fronds with closely spaced, finely toothed leaflets rising from short, hairy leaf stems. Plant spreads by hairy runners. It will tolerate drier, poorer soil than most ferns. Good in shaded beds and can thrive in full sun with ample water.
