    Description

    An evergreen shrub native to Catalina Island and Baja California with arching, spineless, wine-red stems. Small roundish, leathery dark green leaves are fragrant when crushed. Pink bell-shaped flowers in erect clusters from late-winter to spring are followed by red berries. Provide partial shade in hottest climates. Use as ground cover or for erosion control in dry, shaded areas.
